Found an EM7511 card for reasonable price, and put that in place of the EM7355. Just uninstalled software for EM7355 and installed software for EM7511, and works perfectly!!

FZ-55 MK1 retrofit WWAN card
My FZ-55 did not come with a WWAN card, and I decided to see about retrofitting one. The official card that ships with the FZ-55 is an EM7511, which supports 4G and NetFirst. The laptop seems to have the appropriate antenna that supports both WLAN and WWAN. When I open the hatch on the bottom, there...

Re: DDR4 RAM for mk6 7600u
Just pulled the RAM hatch off of my CF-31 MK6. I have 32 GB of DDR4 2666 in mine. It works fine.
Official specs show DDR4 2133.

FZ-55 MK1 SSD caddy works with NVME drives
I took a chance and ordered a "Genuine FZ-55 MK1 Caddy M.2 SSD Bracket FZ-VSDR55T1W For Panasonic ToughBook" (eBay). It shipped from China, and *appears* to be the real thing, but there are some clever fakes out there, so you never really know. The MK1 version of FZ-55 comes from the facto...

On Panasonic Japan (Windows) drivers site, looks like CF-31S, U, or V is MK3.

Re: CF-31 Mk6 camera
Update: After looking at available webcams for CF-31, it appears that most sellers say "compatible with all CF-31 submodels - MK1, MK2 up to MK5". Or "WILL NOT WORK IN CF-31 MK6 MODEL*********** The bios in the mk6 is not capable". There are MK6 CF-31s sold with webcam pre-instal...

Re: CF-31 Mk6 camera
I installed one in an MK4 not long ago using Bob Johnson install video:

I would think you could do the same with MK6

Re: The Toughbook FZ-40 is here!!
Missing the forum activity, and appreciating Rob hosting this forum. When my rich uncle dies, I originally planned to buy a ToughBook 40 from Rob. (Unfortunately, my uncles have all died, and none of them left me a thing!!) But I would love dearly to get one of these!!! Who knows, if I drink heavily...

Re: So... who's gonna start a thread about FZ-55?
I've had mine for a little over 6 months now. So far, no trouble with battery. It takes me about 2 days to deplete my battery. Not constant usage, so part of that may be battery conservation features either in Windows 11 or just in the ToughBook itself. Also, I mostly use it at my kitchen counter to...
