Mk1 core duo shares basic chassis with the 18 ( U2400 ) Mk2 core 2 duo shares basic chassis with the 18 ( U7500 ) Mk3 core 2 duo 1.2 new chassis and led backlight ( SU9300 ) Mk4 i5 1.2 ( U540 ) Mk5 i5 2.5 first b...

Re: looking for CF-31SFL731M suggestions
I had a Mk6 19 here about about two years ago I had to do that on. 7 first then upgrade. Also had to do a alienware R4 aurora for my son like that. All are from around the same time frame computer wise.

Re: Can't boot OS from removeable SATA SSD, only M.2 SSD
There is lots of little tricks to toughbooks. That was a trick needed to boot up some older models from the single core days. Also some of the older ones were really picky about what brand ram you used.

Re: Can't boot OS from removeable SATA SSD, only M.2 SSD
One thing to try is set bios to default. Save then reboot. I know it has worked with a few other toughbooks that was having booting issues. Another trick was to boot a few times with no drive in it at all then boot have the drive you wanted installed.

Re: CF-33 Touchscreen issues???
Personally It's the first time I have seen or heard about this on a pc in general. Usually if it was a bad touch screen it was the whole thing. Either it worked or it didn't. Being this is a dual touch model. We can see the digitizer is working fine. Maybe we can just focus on the brand/type of touc...

Re: WTB caddy for a cf-19
The caddy is different. They swapped from a IDE to SATA drive going in the 18 to the 19. If you have a Mk1-2 CF-19 some of the parts on the 18 will swap over. Less will swap over on a Mk3-8 as the chassis was changed up. Post your model numbers up when you have time.

Re: Screen illumination
Also check your bios setting to see where they are set at. Also see if you have a light sensor. It will auto dim. That can be shut off in the bios as well.
